Abigail Algiers is a teacher by day, writer by night,
and runner/yogi in between to keep it all together.
She trains for marathons
year round, and consequently has a lot of “think time”
on the road. She uses inspiration gathered from her runs
to write articles for her
blog. Algiers published The Great Search in 2009. This short story
chronicles the journey of one woman as she searches for
“the one.” Highlights of this story include photos taken
by Algiers’ photographer husband, Eric
Fowler. Currently, Algiers is at work on Living
Backwards, a “semi-fictional” novel about one woman’s
quest to reclaim herself after divorce. She is also
working on an e-book about life lessons learned while
golfing with her dad.
A graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, Algiers spent the first years of her career
as a television producer and writer for a real estate
marketing company. Later, she decided to pursue her love
of the Spanish language and culture, and moved into the
education arena. She currently teaches English as a
Second Language and jumps at any chance to travel to
lands far and near. When she’s not writing, running, or
searching the web for travel deals, Algiers enjoys
spending time with her husband Eric, and two
stepchildren.
